the eternal sea vest
the final piece in the tidal detritus collection for fall and winter 2008 is the eternal sea vest.
this is a very special vest, made from hand dyed organic cotton, hand printed with our
exclusive tidal detritus print. the vest is quilted and the low-loft batting inside is also made
from 100% organic cotton. there are two pockets, one each at the side seams. the vest
closes with three handmade chinese knot buttons and braided loops, each held fast with a
little scrap of brown leather. the back of the vest is adorned with an elaborately braided
broken eternity knot, which is handsewn in place and ends in ragged tatters. the knot gives
a pleasant weight and tactility.
this vest can be made to order in squid ink (navy blue) as well, though it is only available in
one-size-fits-many. both colors are accented with natural, unbleached trim and braiding and
cream-colored textile ink.
